Canada Wellness Holidays - Big Hit in South Korea

Image by Getty Images via DaylifeCanada wellness holidays are a big hit in South Korea. The country enjoys popularity as a wellness travel destination according to a story from the Canadian Press about a survey done by the Canadian Tourism Commission. Read the full Canadian Press story below:
“The economy has taken a bite out of the travel plans of many South Koreans but Canada is gaining ground as a destination for those who can still afford a trip, says a recent report.
The latest Canadian Tourism Commission Global Tourism Watch South Korea report found the local economy has a negative outlook due to inflationary pressures, a weak Won, faltering domestic demand and deteriorating prospects for exports.
But Canada has gained ground over some competitors, emerging as an outdoors destination market leader alongside Australia.
Canada has also made inroads with South Korean nature lovers, the tourism commission notes.
Urban centres such as Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver also attract Koreans. The wellness travel market in South Korea is hot, so there’s potential for Canadian spa-or resort-related vacations.
The Global Tourism Watch is a survey conducted by Harris/Decima Research, in which thousands of participants from around the world comment on how they perceive Canada and CTC’s “Canada. Keep exploring” tourism brand.”
